- During the installation of the David® client on a system running
Microsoft® Windows NT® (version 4.0) the associated FaxWare®
printer driver has not been installed automatically. How can I add it
later on?

Create the printer manually in the same way you would normally add a
local printer:
Start
-> Settings
-> Printer
-> Add New Printer
The FaxWare® Printer will not be shown in the device list presented.
Select [Diskette] and specify the directory
...\David\Clients\Windows\Winnt\400
on your associated server. If no logical port is available ("SERVER" in
most cases), attach the driver to LPT1 temporarily. Then reinstall the
David® client which should adjust the port allocation of the printer
driver to point to the server.

- I'm using FaxWare® 5.2 and want to upgrade the system to David® 5.2.
The media and the original license card has been delivered already.
How can I upgrade my system?
- Tobit® FaxWare® 5.2/David® 5.2 for NetWare[tm]:

During installation of FaxWare® 5.2 all required files have been transferred
to the server already. To enable the additional functions of David® select
David Service Layer
-> Configuration
-> Databases
-> Licenses
-> System
on the system console and type in the new license key. Finally all David®
modules should be unloaded and reloaded again (do not forget to register
your new software with Tobit®).

- During normal use of David® Client for Microsoft® Windows® 98
suddenly all archives
seem to be empty. What could have happened?
- Tobit® FaxWare® 5.2/David® 5.2 SP2 Client for Microsoft® Windows® 98:

This effect may be observed after the David® Service Layer has been unloaded
and reloaded in the meantime (e.g. by administrator). Just close (exit) the
client and restart it, then the archives will be displayed correctly with
their contents.

- After Installation of a new NetWare® 5 SP2 server and
David® 5.2 SP2 no
David®/FaxWare® printers can be associated, pressing
[Ins]
just returns an empty selection list even though NetWare® printers have been
setup which work fine. What could cause this?
- Tobit® FaxWare® 5.2/David® 5.2 SP2 for NetWare®:

Check if your printers have been configured via "Novell Distributed Print
Services" (NDPS). David®/FaxWare® does only show NDS® objects of type
"print queue" in the selection box, NDPS printer objects are not
recognized. In this case configure the printer(s) the traditional way
(print server, queue, printer) so that the queue will be detected by
David®/FaxWare®.
